Serving executive realness in Chanel earrings is Ms. Amberlee Tea. This is a bit simpler outfit than I would normally wear but I threw it on this weekend and fell in love. It’s a lot of metal up top, but I felt like keeping the rest of the outfit basic in black meant that the silver pop would be just fine!
I’m working my way through the last week before Spring Break. I’m flying home on Friday and I can’t wait to see Brooke and Tahoe!

HAPPY (Late) VALENTINES DAY! I had an amazing day with my Valentines (Dorothy, Kaylee and Michael) and we gave each other cards and candies. It was such a sweet day and especially nice to be surrounded by people who love you! The best part of the day was the presents my Dad sent. He sent some flowers, a teddy bear and some chocolates. My Dad isn’t a man of many words, but this was so sweet! He’s always let me know that I’m strong, smart and beautiful and that no boyfriend or man can change that!

I was planning for Valentines Day and threw this outfit together! With a red trenchcoat and the heart detail on the skirt, it comes together to make a really cute look. I love the pairing of the trench with the bright red lips too!

My birthday is next month so I’m starting to put together a little list. In March, I’ll be 21 years old and I’m trying to balance things I’ll need for my future with some things I’d love now! Therefore I’ve been hoping for a couple tea cups/a plate set to use now and to have for my future home. Some fashion pieces are thrown in there (Louboutins would be my ultimate birthday wish!) with some pamper products like a bath bomb or candle. All in all, soon enough I’ll be able to have a glass of wine without my parents around and the thought of that is too exciting!

This week has been busy with bike practice, class, plenty of work and time with friends. It’s almost over with Valentine’s Day ending the week (while I don’t have a significant other, I’m really excited for my Chipotle date with Michael and Kaylee). Today, I put on my favorite dress with the midnight owls on it! The little one I featured at the bottom is one I’m hoping to get tattooed on my thigh for graduation. I feel like it would be poetic to get a beautiful owl for graduating college as a Rice owl!

While this isn’t necessarily a “runway” review, I’m finally getting the chance to look through the red carpet from the Grammy’s and I’ve picked six of my favorite looks to show you down below. I always love to focus on the best of the best instead of picking out the worst fashions. Therefore, we’re going to look over the looks of Beyonce’, Taylor Swift, Katy Perry, Miranda Lambert, Iggy Azalea and Kelly Osbourne!
Beyonce’ had to be first because she is utter perfection. First, her performance of “Drunk In Love” with Jay-Z opened up the night so well. Any of my friends can tell you that I watched that performance with my jaw on the floor. The white lace on her Michael Costello gown was so strategically placed with a bit of a peek-a-boo on her legs. Paired with her ombre bob and clean make-up, this was enough detail to stay interesting but classic enough to impress. In true Beyonce’ style, she wears the dress; it doesn’t wear her.
Now Taylor Swift’s dress was another one of my favorites and I might consider her one of the best dressed at the Grammy’s. She wore a classic Gucci gown in silver with a cinched waist and sheer top. The sheer top actually really suits her plus the dress makes Taylor’s 5’ 10'” stature look miles long. This just goes to show how important meticulous tailoring is. This Gucci gown shines, not because it’s silver and sparkly, but because it has a perfect length and fit.
Katy Perry’s gown was the most appropriate for the night with the musical notes. I thought the Valentino piece kept it simple and dreamy. The neutral, ethereal gown was a stark contrast to her performance which was dark so we got to see two sides of Katy. The only thing I would’ve changed would be her hair. I’ve read that she kept it pulled back to keep the focus on the dress, but I thought a sidesweep or a pony would’ve worked much better.
Next is one of roommate’s favorites, Miranda Lambert, in Pamela Rolland. It’s simple and suits her figure! The length is perfect so she could glide along with red carpet and of course, it’s in my power color so how could I not love this dress..
I wanted to save the best for last, because honestly Iggy Azalea and Kelly Osbourne chose pieces that I could personally see myself wearing. First Iggy Azalea’s Elie Saab number is comparable to what I want to wear at my wedding eventually. The lines flatter her figure and I cannot get enough of the crisp white with a hint of silver. She keeps the pop of color on her nails and probably had the most natural looking make-up at the Grammy’s. She’s a clear favorite of mine..
Next Kelly Osbourne wore the dress I would most likely have in my closet. Recently Kelly Osbourne has become one of my style icons with her purple bob, dark lips and all black outfit. The strong shoulders with jewel accents in addition to the cape just made this an A+ outfit for me. I loved that her rings matched the shoulder detail and that she kept her nails dark. It looks quite regal on her pale skin and you better believe I will be trying to emulate this outfit next week.
Did you get a chance to watch the Grammy’s? Which was your favorite red carpet look?

☠One of my friends, Travis, shared a great article about Earthships which are sustainable, economical structures that look absolutely beautiful. I’ve always dreamed of a cute little house and love the aesthetic/maintance of them.
☠I’m obsessed with beards and when I discovered this tumblr called “100 Days, 100 Beards”, my heart stopped. It’s a collection of 200 men with beautiful beards from London. They seriously get better each day
☠Don’t Hug Me, I’m Scared Part Two came out this past week. It’s beautiful and thought provoking (definitely worth a watch!). If you’re worried about it, it’s less gruesome than the first one.
☠My roommate shared my favorite website of the week called Drake Weather. You can see your local weather in the cover of Drake’s album “Nothing Was the Same”.
☠Lastly, turn yourself into an Adventure Time princess with Princess Maker! Have a look at AT Amberlee Tea below..
“Radioactive City” by Kendrick Lamar and Imagine Dragon (mixed by Isosine) – Isosine basically put together the Grammy performance we all loved.

I’ve been sick for the past week so today I decided to put on a showstopping outfit to make myself feel better. I wanted to go with some bright red accessories into my research meetings and classes. My illness is almost gone and I’m back to my busy schedule of classes, running and a full social calendar. It was definitely odd to be back on heels after a week of rest, so I’m going to start my heel training again! I can’t wait to be back to 100% Amberlee Tea.

This week I had to take a break from blogging due to illness. I’ve had a horribly lazy week full of sleep and recovery. Today I finally got dressed and went to brunch to discuss a few books! It was great and I was extremely proud of this outfit’s mixing of brown and black (which I hate to do). My dress actually has little bees all over it which make an amazing pattern!
